July 28, 2025 – EnerStar, the proud partner of Starlink, wishes to inform our valued customers about a recent service disruption affecting the Starlink network. At approximately 12:13 PM PDT (19:13 UTC) on July 24, 2025, the network experienced a global outage.

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Starlink team, most customers were back online within 2.5 hours, with full service restored later that afternoon.

The disruption was caused during a routine upgrade, which involved software deployments across ground-based compute clusters. A rare combination of factors during this process led to a disruption in one of Starlink’s core network systems. This resulted in an overload of additional compute nodes as traffic was redistributed, causing a cascade of failures and temporary loss of connectivity.

In response, the Starlink team swiftly initiated emergency procedures to restore service. By around 3:00 PM PDT, most users were reconnected, and efforts continued into the afternoon to ensure full stabilization of the network.

Starlink is committed to enhancing system resilience. Immediate steps are being taken to improve monitoring and alerting systems, as well as to increase redundancy to mitigate future issues.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Our primary goal remains the maintenance of reliable service, and we greatly appreciate your continued trust in Starlink to keep you connected.
